Everyday college kids wake up and we ask ourselves, "what are we going to be today?" Well let me tell you, every morning we "wake up, go to work, save the world" (tvtropes.org). We are superheroes.
From the moment we get out of bed our battle against our day begins. Superhero mommy to the rescue to help start the day between getting herself ready, getting her children ready, feeding them a mighty meal, and putting on her happy disguise for the long stressful day ahead of her. Being the superhero she is she magically kisses booboos away, takes care of the never ending bullies, and of course makes sure all of her children are safe and sound. Which then brings her to flying her children in her SUV to take them to their destination to the other superheroes who are patiently awaiting their arrival.
Then it begins in superhero daycare. Toy cars being thrown across the room, the battle of who gets to sit by who, and the ear piercing squeals of children being too excited at 7:00 in the morning. Both superhero mommy and teacher play the roll of giving the children the confidence and strength they need to one day become heroes themselves. Time never seems to slow down because all of a sudden the battle with school begins. The daily lectures, mind killing tests, and you can't forget the forever long essays. All leading up to the end of your day where you return to being a superhero teacher or superhero mommy.
However, in the end it pays off when you get to walk off the campus with your superhero career. As a superhero it is important to always play the role even on the days you want to be a villan. Hard work and dedication pays off even if it comes unnoticed. Your duty is always appreciated. So the next time you wake up and you are questioning who you are, remember you are the superhero you were yesterday.
